Post-war New Mexico is as bitter as Sister Moreno’s heart. The last thing she expects is for her past to saunter back into her life. Five Star Review by Emily O.
I had the privilege of reading this book before it was published. I cannot recommend it highly enough! I read every single word. I couldn't skip over any part of it for fear of missing something wonderful. This book made me cry, made me laugh, and made me want a cold shower at one point. What I didn't expect the book to do was force me to look into social ills that I was aware existed, but brushed off thinking they were not commonplace. No small details were left out of this book. You can smell the smells, see the terrain, and hear the sounds. I can't wait for the next edition in the Moreno Series, and know that it will be every bit as wonderful as the first. You will not be disappointed with this book!

I've JUST finished reading this book and absolutely loved it! Dead isn't an option. In a post war climate, Sissy Moreno fights another battle, with an old flame. Paige Robbins does an excellent job fleshing out her characters and developing an intriguing storyline. From the first page, the reader is drawn into a world of survival and preparation, with cops who aren't always good, and heroes in unexpected places. Paige Robbins shows a keen eye toward potential social situations with an awareness of off grid living. It's evident she's done her research well as she draws a picture of self-sufficiency and sustainability where each of her characters has a position to fill. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author and have saved her as a favorite so I will know when the sequel to this book is released. Highly recommend!
